One thing Canadians "demand" is their Tim Hortons Coffee. You can't get it in Cancun! Canadians are fanatics about
this coffee... my family from Canada shipped me 3 cans for Christmas along with a newsletter. I see that the Canadian
Military in Afghanistan can get the coffee according to the newsletter. That's a great "perk" for our troops... haha.
Thanks to Uncle Sam for shipping this portable Tim Hortons to the front lines... a great morale booster!
The point here is this... if you are coming to Cancun and have access to some cans of this coffee... BRING IT! You
will get the royal treatment from me (and many of my American friends who are now hooked on the coffee too). I am reprinting
the story from Tim Hortons newsletter (below) of whazzup with Tim Hortons in Afghanistan.
In my opinion... there is no better coffee on the planet, and no mission so noble that a company could make that what
Tim Hortons has delivered to our troops in combat.

On July 1st (2006), Tim Hortons opened its first outlet at a deployed mission, at Kandahar Air Field (KAF) in
Afghanistan. Tim Hortons is both proud and honoured to serve our products to Canadian troops stationed in Afghanistan.
Responding to numerous soldiers requests Tim Hortons was approached by the Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency
(CFPSA) to deliver a "taste of home".
The opening was a resounding success and continues to offer a little taste of home for the approximately 2,200 members
of the Canadian Forces and more than 5,000 troops from other nations stationed at KAF.
"This is about serving you as you continue to do the outstanding job Canada asks of you," Major-General Doug Langton
said to Canadian troops at the opening of the store. "We hope this little piece of home will make your lives in Afghanistan
just a little bit easier."

Langdon added that Tim Hortons has helped "boost morale and welfare of the troops serving in Kandahar."
With temperatures well above 40 degrees Celsius, 100 degrees Fahrenheit, Tim Hortons Iced Cappuccinos were an
overwhelming favourite as soldiers attempted to cool down in the hot desert sun. The store also serves a selection
of baked goods, hot and cold beverages and Tim Hortons own premium blend coffee.
Tim Hortons waived the franchise fee and does not charge royalties, rent or advertising fees to the location in
Kandahar. Essentially no profits are realized for Tim Hortons. Personnel pay prices comparable to those in Canada
and any profits made by the CFPSA, our franchisee, will be reinvested in morale and welfare programs for Canadian
Forces members.
